The Properties Palette

Docked Properties Palette
There is one area of the Organizer that we have not yet discussed in detail--the Properties palette. The properties palette can show you just about everything you'd ever need to know about a photo. I've already told you how you can dock or float the properties palette (via the Window menu, if you need a reminder). If you like to see a larger properties panel, you can undock it from the organize bin and make it larger. If you have a second monitor, you may prefer to keep it undocked and drag it onto the secondary monitor.

The screen shot on this page shows the properties palette docked in the organizer bin, but the remaining screen shots in this article will show it floating.

Across the top of the properties palette are four buttons for viewing different types of image properties. From left to right they are: General, Tags, History, and Metadata. Let's take a look at each pane of the properties palette in detail...
