Organizer Preferences - Files

Under the File section of preferences, you may wish to change the "Folders for Saved Files:" location if you have a special drive or folder where you like all your pictures to go. This is the location for new files you save from Elements. To change the folder click the "Browse" button (it's cut off in my screen shot).

Under "Offline Media" you may wish to change the default proxy size to something a little larger, especially if you have a larger monitor and plenty of hard disk space. I use a proxy size of 800x600 pixels. A proxy is small image that is stored on the hard drive as a visual reference for photos that you intend to leave on a CD or DVD, but want to index in the catalog. The proxy is used for browsing your photos, but for editing, printing, and creations, Elements will prompt you for the disc with the original full-size photo.
