These free patterns are for Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS, and Photoshop Elements 2.0 (or higher). The patterns were created by John Woods who has offered them freely to the Photoshop community. Zip File Help:
To extract the files you will need an unzipping tool such as Winzip or ZipGenius. Mac users can use Aladdin's free Stuffit Expander. Consult your software help file for specific instructions on unzipping files. Or see Unzipping Files from About.com's Shareware/Freeware Guide.
Loading the patterns into Photoshop:
Place the files in the following folder and they will be available from the pattern picker menu the next time you start Photoshop:
- Photoshop 7.0: Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Presets\Patterns
- Photoshop CS: Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Presets\Patterns
- Photoshop Elements 2: Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2\Presets\Patterns
- Photoshop Elements 3: Adobe\Photoshop Elements 3.0\Presets\Patterns
Patterns are available from the fill tool, the Edit > Fill command, and the pattern overlay layer style.
