Create Gingham Seamless Pattern
Create a new image white background 10x10 pixels.
We'll use the Grid tool as a guide when creating this pattern too. Change the current image grid size to 5 for both horizontal and vertical. Click OK. Turn Grid visibility on.
Change foreground/stroke color to sage or color of your choice.
- Select Paintbrush tool, size 5, square shape.
- Fill top left square with sage, 1 click.
- Create a new layer.
- Paint bottom left square and top right square with same color.
- Drag opacity slider for top layer to 50.
- Merge all layers. Layers > Merge > Merge All
- Save. Keep file open.
Note: To create new layer click the New Raster Layer button just below the word Layer on the Layer Palette. It's the 1st button.

Create a new image using dimensions that match your scrapbook album. Color for background is white.
Create new layer name it 'gingham.'
Flood fill the new layer with the gingham pattern. If the pattern file is open in your workspace it'll show in the Materials Palette. You can adjust scale of pattern in the Materials Palette if necessary.
Use the Move tool to slide this pattern to the left a little bit to expose some of the white background layer. This will be a border. Width is optional, approximately the same proportion as above image.
