Isolate the Flowers

Now that we have touched on using the Eraser tool and the Background Eraser tool, let me get you started on your homework using both of these tools. Experiment with them and let us know which one you prefer to use and why. If you like, you may practice with the following floral images for the exercises (right click and choose save to copy the image to your computer).

• Red Flower
• Yellow Flower

Tip: To change the Brush size as you work use the Alt key.

Homework Assignments

1. Using the red floral image and the regular Eraser tool, remove the extra background from around the flower.

2. Using the yellow floral image and the Background Eraser tool, remove the extra background from around the flower.

3. Using the Learning Center, crop of any extra area around your red flower after you have erased the background.

4. Using one of your own images, isolate an object and remove the background using either the Eraser tool or the Background Eraser tool.

5. Crop any extra area off of your yellow flower using the Crop tool and its Options palette. (No Learning Center)

6. Save the final images using the Exporters and/or the Wizards.
