| Easy Beveled Text in PI 4.2 | |

This mini-tutorial will show you the quick and easy way to add different bevels to your text. PhotoImpact can duplicate the effects of Eye Candy's inner bevel in one easy step.
Open a new image and add some text. Go to the Adding Text Mini-tutorial if you don't know how to do this.

This
mini-tutorial will concentrate on the different basic 3D effects
that can be acheived by using the mode box.
Select "3D Round" from the mode box. Your text should change to a nice rounded bevel.

You can adjust the look of the bevel by adjusting the sliders next to the mode box. You can also change the light direction by clicking on the light box and moving the cursor around on your text.

Change your mode to "2D object" to remove the 3D round effect. Now, choose 3D Chisel. This should make a more pronounced bevel. Remember to adjust the height and depth to get the effect you want.

There you have it, easy beveled text. You can experiment with the other modes to see what they can do.
