Interest/Experience with graphics software: Hobbyist

Operating System: Windows 9x

Corel Photo-Paint: Clear the background of the clipart or image, then create an object from the subject On other layers (as many as it takes) I draw the background I choose (using canvas, fill, spray lists, etc.) then when I'm done, I place the layers in the appropriate order. At the end, I combine all objects with background and use the blur tool to finish the image.

What graphics software do you use on a regular basis?
Corel Photo-Paint, Ulead Gif Animator, MS Photo Editor, IrfranView, Harm's Tile '99

What was the first graphics program you learned?
Wasatch System (ancient) - Ulead PhotoPlus (recent)

What is your all-time favorite graphics program and why?
I like Photo-Paint because I have it. I can't really say it's my favourite because I haven't tried any others in the same class. With Photopaint, I can do almost anything I like and want to do.

How long have you been working with graphics software?
Since 1989

How do you use graphics software in your day-to-day activities?
Mostly to illustrate texts I publish on my website Serenidad and for fun. Those I make for fun, I offer on my website Chez France... might as well, it's better than letting them «sleep» on my disks at home. I also create graphics for greetings cards and I make photo-montages for my grandson's Web site just for the fun of it. I discovered lately how to colorize black and white photos and I've been having fun with this too.

What is your best graphics tip or piece of advice?
Try... Try... Try... Ask... Ask... Ask... Try... Try... Try... ;o)

Where do you get your inspiration?
From the texts I write, from photos of family members and friends and from the personality of the person for whom I am preparing a greetings card.

Corel Photo-Paint Text tool (Free font: Christian Crosses), Plugins to get the colors right, Flaming Pear's plugins Primus and Super Blade Pro. Save all layers as PNG with transparent background. MS Photo Editor to convert all images from PNG to GIF (in my experience, it's the best way to get transparent GIF with less pixels around the image itself). Ulead GIF Animator to animate the image.

Corel Photo Paint, free font: Hearts by Darrian. I typed the heart and render as object. Then create a mask from object, remove holes from mask, reduce mask a little bit, create object from mask (from the background not from the layer that contains the text). After that is done, I use all necessary tools to «decorate» both layers, including plugins like Primus and SBP.
