From the article: Top Solutions to Photoshop Problems
As good as Photoshop is, it's not perfect. Sometimes it doesn't work as you'd expect, or perhaps there are things about the way it behaves that are just plain annoying to you. Here's your chance to spout off about your Photoshop pet peeves! What annoys you the most about Photoshop?

Save as Copy
- The way Photoshop automatically adds "copy" at the end of the filename every time you're trying to save to a "some features are unsupported" format, even when it's not "save as copy". I've probably wasted dozens of hours simply erasing that text from my filenames. Also annoying is the very shady alpha matting support for various high dynamic range formats.

Photoshop Pet Peeve
- My Photoshop Pet Peeve would be - that it's so &$%*&%^ difficult to get help. Our PS 11.0.1 aka CS4 is legal and registered but will not display a Serial number, guess what - no serial number, no help! and call in - forget it. And Adobe wants big bucks for this. cvt

Browse!
- My pet peeve is that the Browse button is right below the Open button. Not awful, just annoying!

Part 2
- 1. The tendency to create extra layers when I perform certain operations even when I didn’t ask for a new layer to be created, and which didn’t require extra layers in previous versions, is one such feature that Photoshop foisted off on its users whether they wanted it or not. 2. The redeye tool. Does this actually ever work? It works sometimes, but not in the majority of cases. Come on Adobe. With Apple's iPhoto being able to recognize faces, identify them and tie them in with other pictures, the least you would expect Photoshop to be able to do is be able to find people's eyeballs in a photo! Plus, on those rare occasions when it does find the person's eyeballs, it makes them too dark, no matter how you adjust it. It's only a slight improvement on the redeye removal tool in previous versions that created a new layer just because you were trying to fix somebody's redeye! 3. The inability to set your own keyboard commands, without using a third-party macro program.

Part 1
- Photoshop, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways. No, really, I love Photoshop, there are just so many things that get under my skin. It's not that Photoshop isn't a great program; it's that it is a great program that is hampered by some really stupid shortcomings and interface design decisions. It's the best programs that we tend to expect the most of, and that are the most disappointing when they fall short. Every version of Photoshop seems to have some strange interface idiosyncrasy that manages to slow me down rather than speed me up. I should point out that I’m using Photoshop elements 6 for Mac, and these criticisms may not all apply to other versions.

Complicated!
- Is that is unnecessarily complicated and difficult to use. Very poor and user unfriendly.

working in LAB Mode
- I like to use the Lab mode to put a lift in the color of my photos using curves in Lab mode, but sometimes when I select the Lab mode all I get is a black image.

Choosing fonts
- One of the very few things (if not the only thing) that Microsoft Office products do better than Adobe is choosing fonts from the Fonts list. In Office you can type more than one letter to get the one you want. In Adobe you can only type one letter and then search through the rest for the specific font. BUT in Photoshop you can't even type one letter. You have to scroll through your entire list of available fonts, which is usually hundreds. That's one thing I use over and over that really annoys me, especially when I'm in a hurry. Am I the only one?

Updater
- Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that they have an automated updater. But, it's draconian measures are annoying. I hate that I have to close every app that I'm running. I hate that I can't say 'do this later' to the updater and have it start when I close Photoshop. I hate that I have to close FIREFOX when updating Photoshop. I hate that I have to close Photoshop when the updater is updating something else like Acrobat. WTF?

Load Time is Slow
- I wish Photoshop loaded faster. Sometimes I just want to make a small change that I prefer Photoshop to make for me but it takes forever for the application to start! Usually making the change is faster. I do have a decent PC and other programs load quickly so I blame Adobe!

Adobe Updater and Installer
- The Adobe Updater is highly intelligent! It knows precisely when I'm deeply involved in a project with many Adobe documents and Firefox tabs open, and it chooses that moment to do its update, subsequently nagging me to close Firefox and all my Adobe programs before it can finish. Can't this happen in the background shortly after a system start or in the wee hours when I'm less likely to be working? Also frustrating is the Creative Suite installer. Five hours to install CS4 from a fast SATA DVD drive is insane! And you can't just leave and let it do its thing, because it's going to ask you to swap disks about 5 times.
