Free Photo Editors
- How could you have omitted FastStone Image Viewer? The latest version includes most of the capabilities that I thought it should have and it is a blast to use. Their slide show enables one to move the slides around and their browser is nice to use and allows editing in other editors with a single keystroke. [Guide comment: FastStone is included in my top picks of photo browsers as it does not meet all my criteria for photo editors- http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/imagemanagement/tp/thumbbrowse.htm Thanks for your contribution!]

Photoscape Editing Software
- I recently loaded up Photoscape. I find it very easy to use, very intuitive. I try to produce the best possible photo I can in camera so that I rarely have to do any post editing work. Sometimes there is that tiny little insect that spoils a photo of a rose or a hair that you didn't see through the lens or the tiny debris that is magnified when you shoot macro and spoils your image. I find that the clone tool is just fantastic works just like Photoshop Elements. The other options are very easy to apply and consistently easy to manipulate. I recommend this for anyone who needs quick fixes! I have several excellent examples!

Irfan view
- The quickest way of simple/not content changing/ photo editing. (It has several effects too.) Its batch conversion /B command/ is unmatched for quick automate altering of a number of photos. 'Shift-U' automate light altering feature command is also handy for badly exposed photos. [Editor's note: Ifranview doesn't really fit into the photo editor category since it is more of a viewer, but it is a useful program to have, for sure.]

Picasa
- For family photos to post on Facebook, you can't beat a quick crop and fix in Picasa. I use Photoshop for everything else. Great article.

PaintRibbon is by far the best!
- PaintRibbon is far better than any of the image editors listed. It's like Paint.NET but with the much better Office 2010 Ribbon interface.

Not Gimp
- I don't like GIMP because it's hard to use. Photoscape is very nice though.
