About the Digital Painting
I have created digital iPhone Finger Paintings for the past year using the Doodle Buddy app for these works. Recently I published a collection of these paintings in a book called, "Woven In Time". The paintings were inspired by my love of the woven form.
Tools and Techniques Used
The Doodle Buddy app is one of the easiest apps for iPhone painting. The colors are brilliant and the technique of finger painting enables you to make art where ever you are. The basic Doodle Buddy app has paint that is opaque with a palette of 24 colors. You are given the option to use a brush or chalk along with smudge and a eraser. There is also a link to 'Extras' available but I have not used them.
Advice
- I constantly have people say to me they would like to try painting on their iPhone and then they never do. I would say, just start painting and enjoy the process.
What hardware was used to create this finger painting?
I received a gift of an iPhone along with a Doodle Buddy app in 2009. I joined the Flicker Brushes Group and started painting digitally. It is inspiring to see and share work with other iPhone painters.
What software app was used to create this painting?
The Doodle Buddy is a free available app to use for iPhone painting. It is a beginner program and a good stepping stone to more complicated apps available for iPhone Finger Painting.
What do you enjoy about digital finger painting?
I love to paint, I love design and I love color. Finger Painting offers all of these and it is an immediate art form that can be enjoyed.
