My Holiday Project
This is a calendar with everyone's birthday on it and how they are related to the main 8 people that the calendars are sent to. The first page has the matriarch name printed and the inside page has a collage of family members on it. The design is made in a way that when flipping the calendar, it will hold up under the first (two pages glued on top) page.
Project Details and Instructions
First page has name and is decorated. Second part (picture paper) of first page has family collage on underside of first page. these two pages are glued on top and a little on top sides (this will help hold up calendar pages that have gone to another month). In this calendar I have also included all American holidays. Two holes are punched out of bottom of first page (includes the second part with it) has ribbon put through and tied (this is used to hang on wall). I then print out the calendar months and have them wire bound at home depot with front cover page. A note is put in the package with the calendar letting them know how much we love them, and hopefully thoughts will be shared on the special days of persons with birthdays.
Tips and Tricks
- Need a hole puncher and paper slicer.
- Some pages have to be cut a little shorter so that they can slide in cover page slot.
- I love to update photos of family and put inspirational and funny quotes on the page where I have my family pictures.
- These special calendars are sent to my family members out of state. I think it helps them to stay close to us and feel up to date with the family.
- I use scrapbook glue on top of page so that it it reinforced to hold calendar month pages.
What else would you like to share about the project?
This is a very time consuming project at first, but once the birth dates and holidays are put in your calendar software, all you need to do is update calendar each year. It is so much easier to get the binding done at a store.
