I've used PSP from the days when it was produced by JASC and the versions issued by Corel. I cannot get PSP X3 to run reliably and it crashes frequently. After a hard drive upgrade and a fresh re-load of PSP X3, the software will not even start. (1.8 GHz 3 GB RAM 500 GB hard drive laptop). When it worked, it worked great.
Am seeking a replacement photo editor and leaning towards Serif's PhotoPlus X4.
Best Attribute:
Great deal of control over fine tuning to the photo. The object extractor works great by painting along the edge of the object to extract and the software distinguishes fine hair or tree branches from the background.
Worst Attribute:
Buggy and crashes frequently.
Was PaintShop a good value for the price paid?
It used to be great value in earlier versions. But regardless of the affordable price, there is no value in software that doesn't run reliably.
In what ways do you use PaintShop?
Editing and touching up digital photos from cameras.

1.8 GHz laptop
