Organizer Preferences - General

I'm sure you're eager to get started working with your photos, but before we do, I'd like to go through the Photo Organizer preferences and discuss a few settings that you might want to adjust so we're all on the same page as we work through these lessons. I'm not going to go through every option in the preferences, but we'll look at a few that I think are important. If your curious about an option that I haven't discussed here, you can hold your mouse over it in the preferences dialog to get a popup tip.

Open the Photo Organizer preferences dialog by going to Menu: Edit > Preferences > General. (see screen shot below)

Here I want you to uncheck the box "Allow photos to resize." This makes photos that are smaller than your screen fill the entire screen when using larger views. Having this enabled makes the photos look pixelated and ugly and does not give you a realistic view.

"Show File Names in Details" is another option you may wish to enable. I like to see the file names most of the time, and when I want more space for thumbnails, I can always turn off details right in the browser window.
