Create See-Through Text with Photoshop Elements

You can alter the appearance of the text effect by choosing a different bevel. You can further alter it, by adjusting the style settings. You access the style settings by double clicking the fx symbol for the corresponding layer on the layers palette.

Here I changed the bevel style to Scalloped Edge from the Effects palette and I changed the style settings for the bevel from "up" to "down" so it looks like the text has been engraved in the wood by a router.

Keep in mind that your text is still an editable object so you can change the text, move it, or resize it without having to start over and with full quality.
