Repair mold and discoloration
This is a scanned slide of my sister, all tuckered out after a busy 9th birthday. You can see there is some discoloration and mold on her torso and shorts which was picked up from the original slide. We're going to use Photoshop Elements 3 spot healing tool, and color replacement brush to repair this damage. (Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about the hideous fabric pattern on that sofa! Ah, the 70's!) You should be able to use this technique in Photoshop CS, but earlier versions of Photoshop and Elements did not have the color replacement tool used in this tutorial.

If you'd like to follow along, I have provided a larger, cropped version of the damaged portion of the image for you to work on. Right click this link and save the image to your computer, then open it in Photoshop Elements: moldrepair.jpg

Mac Users: Replace Alt key with Option and Ctrl with Command.

Before we begin, you'll want to make sure your zoom level is set to actual pixels. A quick way to do this is by double-clicking on the zoom tool in the toolbox.

We'll start with the discoloration first, and then take care of the dark splotches.
