Tip #1: Changing the Interface Brightness

Even if you have used Photoshop Elements for some time, you may have missed some of its features. Here are 10 tips to help you work more efficiently in Photoshop Elements 7! While some of these tips work in previous versions of Elements, changing interface brightness, the Smart Brush tools, and the Action Player are brand new in Photoshop Elements 7.

New in Photoshop Elements 7 is a feature that was requested by many users. In Elements 7, you can control the darkness or brightness of the interface. To do so, go to Edit > Preferences > General (Ctrl + K) and type in a new value in the percentage box or use the slider to set the perfect brightness for your monitor. Click OK to exit the preferences dialog. If you ever decide you want to go back to the default dark interface, open the General preferences again and click the Reset Brightness button.
