Web Galleries are another type of creation you can make in Photoshop Elements 5.

In previous versions of Photoshop Elements, you had to have your own Web space and know how to upload to it in order to put your Web galleries online. Now you can share Web galleries on CD, through Photoshop Showcase (a free service), on your own Web site, or just save the files to your computer to view locally. For those that use their own Web space, you can now FTP directly from Elements instead of having to use a separate FTP program.

The Web photo galleries in Elements 5 are all new, Flash-based galleries. There are standard "thumbnail" style galleries as well as animated and interactive galleries with fun effects. In the screen shot here, you can see some of the choices for interactive Web galleries. The one selected is a book style gallery where the viewer can click and drag to simulate turning the pages of a real book. Other galleries include effects such as photos falling onto the page with the ability for viewers to click and drag them around, or framed photos on a wall that scroll from side to side.

These new photo gallery designs are very well done, but it comes with a loss of some customizations such as the ability to specify sizes for the large photos.
