Guide Review - Organize Your Photos with Photoshop Elements 3 by Michael Slater

"Organize Your Photos with Adobe Photoshop Elements 3" by Michael Slater is an excellent book for folks who are overwhelmed with the prospect of organizing their digital photo collections. Photoshop Elements 3 is the ideal software to do it with, and Michael Slater explains how with clear, easy-to-follow instructions. The book thoroughly covers the Photo Organizer component of Photoshop Elements 3 for Windows, and also discusses the most commonly-used editing tools--the Auto Fix Window, Quick Fix Workspace, and several of the Standard Editor tools. The layout and type make for comfortable reading, and many full-color illustrations accompany the text. Interspersed throughout the text are notes to help you avoid common problems, and tips to explain related concepts.

The subject matter of the book makes it impractical to include hands-on exercises. For that reason, it sometimes feels a lot like reading a manual, although it is not nearly as dry as a typical user manual! But since Photoshop Elements doesn't include a detailed printed manual, this book makes a nice substitute, especially for users unfamiliar with Adobe Photoshop Album (the program that formed the basis for the Photo Organizer in Photoshop Elements).

When your photos are organized, it is easier and much more fun to enjoy and share them with others, and this book can definitely help you do that.
