Question: How Do I Transfer a Photoshop Elements Catalog from Windows to Mac?
From the discussion forum: "I have just moved from Windows to Macintosh and from Photoshop Elements 5 on Windows to Photoshop Elements 6 on the Mac. My problem is transferring the catalog and photos over to the Mac. I have backed up from Windows but need to know how to restore them into the Mac. Any help will be greatly appreciated."
Answer: The Macintosh version of Photoshop Elements does not have the Organizer so you can not restore the catalog to the Mac. In order to preserve your tags and captions, you should select all your files, then run the
File > Write Tag Info To Files command in Photoshop Elements Organizer under Windows. This will put the keyword tags and caption information into the metadata of the files so it will move with your files. Next, you can transfer the photos to your Mac in whatever way works best for you. Adobe Bridge, which comes with the Mac version of Photoshop Elements, will be able to read your keyword tags, captions, and other metadata.
Another option is to run Microsoft Windows on your Mac and continue running the Windows version of Photoshop Elements, which includes the photo Organizer.
