Eye Candy 5: Impact - Glass Filter Examples

Here, the glass filter was used to create both clear and tinted glass objects. In the text example, a reflection map was used. In the middle left example, the glass filter was used twice, layering the objects.

In the speech bubble, heart, and aqua button examples, the effect was applied directly to the background layer. If you look closely, you can see the distortion of the underlying graph paper background along the edges of the glass object.

Glass

Glass creates instant clear or colored glass effects by simulating refraction, light filtering, and light reflection. This version of glass has been improved to generate smoother, shinier glassy surfaces with drop shadows and reflections. Controls allow you to adjust the bevel size and shape, bevel placement (inside or outside selection), glass color, opacity, tint amount, refraction, inner shadow, drop shadow opacity, shadow offset, and shadow glow. You can also adjust the lighting and apply custom reflection maps. The bevel profile editor lets you control the bevel shape surrounding the glass edges.
