|Free Photoshop Actions from Your Guide|
This free action creates a symmetrical image in Photoshop 6.0 or higher. Two versions are included in the Zip file, one for Photoshop 6 and one for Photoshop 7. They may work in earlier versions, but I have not tested them. Feel free to pick the actions apart and examine them to learn how each of the effects was created. If you find these files useful, I would appreciate a link back to this site [http://graphicssoft.about.com/]. Enjoy!
(ZIP file - right click to save.)
The symmetry action enlarges the canvas and then duplicates and mirrors the original image vertically and horizontally to create symmetry. Try cropping the original in an unusual way before running the action for some interesting results. Your file must be flattened before running this action.
The symmetry action works well for creating seamless patterns.

To extract the files you will need an unzipping tool such as Winzip or PowerArchiver. Mac users can use Aladdin's free Stuffit Expander. Consult your software help file for specific instructions on unzipping files. Also see What's the Best Zip/Unzip Tool? and Unzipping Files from About.com's Shareware/Freeware Guide.
