New Snapshot Dialog Box

New Snapshot Dialog Box
When you create a new snapshot through the History palette menu, or by Alt-clicking (Option click on Mac) the New Snapshot button, you get a dialog box allowing you to name your snapshot more descriptively and choose how the snapshot is created. In the dialog box, the "From" menu allows you choose the snapshot content from three options:
  • Full Document - Same as the duplicate command; keeps all layers in tact.

  • Merged Layers - Creates a single layer duplicate by merging all the layers of the document state. We have no explore layers yet, so this may not mean much to you now, but it can be a great time-saver when you need a "flattened" copy of your file as it reduces a multi-step process down to one command.

  • Current Layer - If you have multiple layers in your file, this will generate a new document with only the selected layer from your current document. This option is disabled if your document has no layers.
