Other Improvements in Photoshop CS4:
- A new Extended Depth of Field feature allows you to take several photos at varying focal lengths and merge them into one image which is completely in focus.
- Dodge, Burn, and Sponge tools have been reworked to preserve tonal values and give better results.
- The Clone Stamp and Healing brush now provide a live preview so you can see what the result will be before you apply it.
- Photomerge now allows you to create 360° panoramas. Auto-alignment and blending has also been improved to correct for vignetting and geometric distortion.
- There is tighter integration between Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 2 so that changes you make in one with be recognized and applied in the other.
- Camera Raw 5 offers localized adjustments so you can "paint" corrections onto a specific are of an image. In addition, Camera Raw 5 allows you to apply post-crop vignettes that are re-applied when you make changes to the cropping of a photo.
- Spring loaded keys allow you to temporarily switch to a tool by holding down its shortcut key.
