Intertwined Hearts - Using Layer Styles and Custom Shapes in Photoshop

As you can see, using a mask with this layer style makes the gold heart appear broken. In order to make the hearts intertwine, I need to remove the mask and use an alternative approach. To remove the mask, I will choose Edit > Undo Add Layer Mask.
