Creating the Shadow

Perform the following steps to achieve the result shown here:

1. Add a new, empty layer.
2. Select > Modify > Expand: 8 pixels > OK.
3. Edit > Fill > Use: Black > OK.
4. Deselect (Ctrl-D).
5. Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur: 10 pixels > OK.
