Red Eye Removal Dialog Box

Red Eye Command Dialog Box
Like many other features, it shows you a before and after image so that you can see your finished result before you commit to it. The concept behind this feature is to change the color of the iris, the circular center portion of the human eyeball. You can choose the color you want from the Hue menu and see a preview right below in the Color window.

To get started you choose your method. The first two: Auto Human Eye and Auto Animal Eye are self-explanatory and also the easier two of the four available methods. They change the color of the entire iris to the chosen color.

The second two methods for red eye removal are Freehand Pupil Outline and Point-to-Point Pupil Outline. Although a bit more difficult to maneuver, these methods allow you to fine tune the exact area of the iris you want to correct, using a freehand drawing tool or by drawing points around the desired area.

Once the method is chosen, there are other settings that you can adjust including Iris size, Pupil lightness, Glint size and the Glint lightness. The glint is the "white of your eye" inside the pupil—the small dark circle in the center of the eye. The Feather and Blur options are helpful for making a corrected eye look more natural if the eyes appear to look unnatural after fixing.
