Each 'Frame' in the animation file is displayed side by side in your workspace. This is called the 'Filmstrip.'
If you're not seeing all frames, the filmstrip is probably 'collapsed.' Hold your cursor over the right end of the filmstrip until it turns into a double-headed arrow. Drag the filmstrip to the right until you can see all the frames at once. If there's lots of frames, they may not all fit the screen width. In that case, you'll have to use the filmstrip slider to move sideways.
To edit a frame in the filmstrip, you must first select it with the Arrow tool. Hold down the Shift key to select more than one frame at a time. The default border color for a selected frame is blue, as shown for Frame 1 (F:1) in this screenshot.
You can add your name now using the Text tool, but more than likely, the animated GIF you will be altering does not have enough space to add your name! It'd be very easy to add some blank space if Animation Shop had a tool to enlarge canvas size - but it does not! We can, however, enlarge the canvas size in Paint Shop Pro. In the next step we will export our filmstrip to PSP and make our changes there.
Tip: When making your canvas larger, make it a lot larger. We'll crop it after adding your name or other text.
