A to Z Yearbook with PSP - Journaling and Embellishments

Completed A page
Journaling and embellishments will make our page complete.

Add Journaling and More Embellishments

Create a new layer named 'journaling' and add your journaling text. This is a great place to use those 'handwriting' fonts!

Layers

Before we add any more images let's prepare a few more layers for the mats we'll add in the next few steps. Create 6 new layers named as follows and in this order ending with 'title' as top layer.

  1. block (for alphabet block)
  2. clip art mat
  3. clip art (an apple on this page)
  4. letter (Aa on this page)
  5. word (that matches letter… Apple)
  6. title ('apple cheeks')

Letter block

Select the Picture Tube tool and scroll thru the tube images until you find Alphabet blocks. We want just the A block right now. There's 3 ways to be 'selective'… you choose:

  1. Click and undo until you find the correct letter block for the 'block' layer.
  2. Browse the PSP Picture Tube folder for the file. Open the file and copy the A tube directly from the file. Resize after pasting into 'block' layer.
  3. Create a separate image. Select the Alphabet Block tube and adust size slider until it's the correct size for your scrapbook page. Click the Tube tool until you have every letter of the alphabet in the new image. Save it. Copy each letter block as needed and paste into the 'block' layer of your scrapbook page.

Clip Art and Tubes

I decided to just use an apple shape instead of an apple image. The lower case 'i' in the dingbat 'Fazings1' is an apple. As you'll see there are lots of other neat little drawings in this font for accenting your child's pages.
