How big to make it is up to you! I used the red from the A alphabet block as my fill color. (I decided not to use the happy face on the apple and painted over it.)
Select the layer named 'clip art mat'. If it is not below the 'clip art' layer drag the layer button to move layer. On that layer use the same apple shape in a larger size to create a mat for the apple (dotted pattern used for fill). Select the layer named 'letter'. Add an uppercase A and a lowercase A in the same red as the apple. (font: Kristen) Select the layer named 'word'. Add the word: APPLE. Select the layer named 'title' and add your title. I wrote 'apple cheeks' by the photo. Once you've finished adding all your embellishments, add a drop shadow to most of the layers for a 3D layered effect. With each item on a separate layer, it's very easy to go back and selectively choose which layers need a bit of shadow. Don't make it too big there should just be a small bit of shadow between the layers. Experiment with size and opacity until it looks realistic. Of course, instead of imitating the layered effect, you could print some parts seperately and paste onto scrapbook pages. Did you know that you can print mulitple images on one piece of paper? File > Print Layout and drag images onto layout. Next make a template for all other pages by duplicating your file. Change clip art colors and photo for each page and you're done!
