Crop, Save and Optimize

Erasing frames added to animation
Select Crop tool (should be 4th from left on toolbar). Drag a tight crop selection around image (any frame) to enclose all pieces. You'll notice that the crop selection is visible in all frames. View each frame and make sure you're enclosing ALL of your image in the crop area. If some of your image is not inside crop area drag one side of it to enlarge. If too much blank space is selected drag selection to reduce. Next click the Crop button that appears above tne Crop tool. Smaller canvas=smaller file size.

Optimized files also equal smaller file size. Let's save as Gif and optimize at same time.

Select the Save button and the Save As box will appear to give your file a new name. After you name the file click Save and the Gif Optimizer should appear.

Move slider to top for 'better image quality'. On this same page of the dialog box select the Customize button to review all settings. After you click Next the GIF Optimizer will show you a preview of your image. You can always go back and make more changes before the final save.

Click OK Next Next Next and Finish. You're done!

Now I challenge you to go one step further and create a new animation with more frames. Have teacher erase the chalkboard before animation repeats. Create some additional frames in PSP in pretty much the same way each layer was made in Step 7. Except this time cut and paste her arm to place it in a position of erasing letters and smudge letters.

Have fun! ~Kate
