Corel Painter Tutorial: Painting Realistic Texture in Trees

Our tree is now ready for leaves! Paint in the indication of leaves using the Sponge brush. Vary the color by opening the Brush Controls. Choose Ctrl/Cmd -B to open the palette. Open the Color Variability palette and experiment with color variation. This will help to convey natural looking leaves. Change the brush size as you move out to the less dense areas of the tree. Keep the color values lighter at the top of the tree and darker as you move inside where less light penetrates.
