The Finished Painting

Fall is here and our thoughts are moving towards cooler days. During this time of year inspiration is all around you all you need to do is step outside! If you have a digital camera, and you enjoy taking pictures now is a great time to venture out!

You may enjoy scanning leaves, dried flowers and other textures to create your paintings from. As you discover this process, don't hold anything back, experiment with color with texture and express the feeling of the season in your artwork.

In this lesson, I will show you a simple watercolor effect. This is a technique whereby you build up value via the opacity sliders and by working on separate watercolor layers. You will need a photo to work from. In staying with the autumn theme, use an image of trees in high color or other images of the season. Let's get started painting the season and all its color and vibrancy, for it soon will be gone for another year.
