Drawing a Bat in Illustrator - Drawing the Bat Wing

Drawing the Bat Wing
Step 1: Make a new document in RGB mode using pixels as your unit of measurement. Go the Illustrator > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (PC) and choose Guides and Grid. Set Grid Every to 72, and Subdivisions to 6. Choose the pen tool (P) from the tool box. Following the diagram below, click where there are yellow dots and if you see a blue handle, drag as far as the handle extends on the diagram in FIGURE 1:
  1. Click at point 1.
  2. Click at point 2 and drag right the length of the handle in the diagram. As soon as you start to drag, depress the shift key so you constrain the drag to a 90º angle. Release.
  3. Click at point 3.
  4. Click at point 4 and drag left two squares. Once again, as soon as you start to drag, hold the shift key to constrain the drag to a 90º angle. Release.
  5. Click at point 5.
  6. Click at point 6 and drag left two squares. Once again, as soon as you start to drag, hold the shift key to constrain the drag to a 90º angle. Release.
  7. 7. Click at point 7.
  8. Click at point 8 and drag left two squares. Once again, as soon as you start to drag, hold the shift key to constrain the drag to a 90º angle. Release. FIGURE 2.

Remove the stroke from the bat wing and fill it with black. You should have something like FIGURE 3.
