I will use Illustrator CS4 to re-create a logo from a poor quality scan, three different ways; first I'll automatically trace the logo using Live Trace, then I'll manually trace the logo using a template layer, and finally I'll use a matching font. Each has its pros and cons, which you'll discover as you follow along.
