Step 4. Set the fill color to no fill and set the outline color to Ash by making the outline active (press X) in the color chips at the bottom of the toolbox. Open the Swatches palette (Window > Swatches) and choose the Ash swatch for the outline color. If you hover the mouse over the swatches in the Swatches palette, a tooltip will tell you the color names.
To construct the bulb base, select the line tool in the tool box and click once on an empty area of the page. In the Line Segment Tool options dialog enter 27 pt for the line length and click OK. This is an approximate length that will really depend on the size of the finished bulb, but it can be altered later (vectors, remember?). When you click OK you should have a gray line. With the line still selected in the Stroke palette set the Width to 4 pt and the end caps to Round Cap.
