9/27/11 - Today Wacom announced a refresh to the consumer line of Bamboo graphics tablets. The three new tablet models in the Bamboo line will replace the five models of the "Bamboo Pen and Touch" line-up introduced in 2009. With the three new models, Wacom have refined the product line and focused each model to a specific user-type, removing a lot of the confusion that comes with having too many choices.

The new Bamboo line-up includes:

  • Bamboo Connect, a small pen-only tablet intended for home and office use for quick sketching, document markup, doodling, and so on.

  • Bamboo Capture, a small tablet with both pen and multi-touch input, intended for digital photo enthusiasts and beginner designers. An optional wireless accessory allows you to use the tablet without a cable.

  • Bamboo Create, a larger tablet with both pen and multi-touch input for users looking for a larger work area. This model is also compatible with the optional wireless accessory.

  • Plug & Play Wireless Accessory Kit, a battery-powered module which allows the Bamboo Capture or Bamboo Connect to connect to your computer wirelessly.
