A. Photo objects are digital photos of objects which have been pre-masked to remove all background elements, leaving the object floating in a transparent background. Hemera is a company that specializes in high-quality, royalty-free photo objects and which has sold retail bundles of photo object collections. However, the phrase "photo object" can also be used to describe any digital image consisting of an object on a transparent background. Although photo objects are a form of clip art, they are distinctly photographic in detail which differentiates them from the traditional idea of clip art which is usually more stylistic than photographic.
