How to Use Photoshop Brushes in GIMP

GIMP has a specific folder for brushes and any compatible brushes found in this folder when GIMP launches are automatically loaded.

If the brushes that you have downloaded are compressed, such as in a ZIP format, you may need to extract the brushes first. On Windows, you should be able to open the ZIP file and copy the brushes directly without extracting them.

The Brushes folder is found in the GIMP installation folder. On my Windows 7 laptop, the full path is C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\Share\gimp\2.0\brushes and if you're using Windows, it should be similar. When you have opened this folder, you can copy or move your downloaded brushes to this folder.
