How to Use Photoshop Brushes in GIMP

Not everyone realizes that you can use Photoshop brushes in GIMP, but this is a great way to extend the popular free pixel based image editor. As long as you're using version 2.4 or later of GIMP, you can use Photoshop brushes in GIMP by simply installing them. In earlier versions of GIMP, Photoshop brushes had to be manually converted. While you can still find advice on how to convert Photoshop brushes for GIMP, this really would be a good time to update to the latest version of GIMP.

This is a very simple tutorial and once you start installing brushes into GIMP, you may find it becomes a bit addictive.
