In this project I'll show you how you can use photos to build up a montage design cupcake wrapper. If you want to follow along and learn how to make cupcake wrappers, you'll need a copy of GIMP, the free and open source image editor. If you're not familiar with the application, check out Sue's review of the image editor and you'll find a link to GIMP's website, where you can download your own copy. You'll also want to download a copy of my cupcake wrapper template that you can use to make your own personalised designs.
Finally, before you get started, you'll want a selection of photos of the subject of your design. For the purpose of this tutorial, I've downloaded a few self-portraits from my Flickr account. Now I know that may make me look a little narcissistic, but can you blame me?
