About the image: I used Jasc Paint Shop Pro v9. My main tool was the clone tool, but I used my brushes and layers extensively. My most invaluable tool in doing this image, though, had to have been the Magnifier (View > Magnifier or Ctrl+Alt+M). I couldn't have worked without it. I deliberately left the edges as they were to keep the 'feel' of the photo. I don't like messing with the edge unless the client specifically requests a neat photo edge.
What graphics software do you use on a regular basis?
Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Photo Impact, Photoshop
What was the first graphics program you learned?
Jasc Paint Shop Pro
What is your all-time favorite graphics program and why?
It has to be Paint Shop Pro, probably because it was my first love and is the one I am most familiar with. Its also so quick and easy to work with and doesn't use as much system resources as the others, especially when I'm working on very large files.
How do you use graphics software in your day-to-day activities?
I do photo restoration and web design. For fun, I do digital scrapbooking
What is your best graphics tip or piece of advice?
Patience. I often have to back off from a graphic, then return later with a fresh outlook. Another one would be to 'be original.' :)
Where do you get your inspiration?
Browsing photograph and graphics sites such as this one; online friends with the same interests; and day to day living around me.
