Lightning
Create lightning bolts with complete control over position,
size, forkiness, glow, color, and more.

Here I applied two bolts of lightning to the original textured
image I have been using throughout these examples.

Here I used an existing image. The original image had a pretty pink sky, so I first turned it into a dark forboding sky. Then I added a layer and filled it with black. I applied the lightning filter to the black layer, then set the blend mode to Color Dodge and set the opacity to 90%. This, I felt, gave me the most realistic blending with the source image, while having the lightning on a separate layer allowed me to later reposition it slightly.
KPT's Lightning filter allows you to position the start and end point of the bolt, change the bolt color, and adjust a number of attributes including size, branching, length, thickness, number of forks, number and intesity of child bolts, glow, path, spread, and zagginess. You can also choose from 21 blending modes to combine the lightning with the source image.
