Answer: It depends on what is stated in the End User License Agreement (EULA) for the specific title, but I have never heard of an academic license that had a time limitation. Then again, I don't read that many academic licenses since I don't qualify for the discounts myself. It's something you really need to check out for yourself by reading the EULA or asking the customer service department for the software publisher.
