Image
Effects
PhotoImpact contains a great deal of native effects and also supports most Photoshop-compatible
plug-in filters. Here's just a few of the native effects you'll find...

An easy way to remove
red-eye from your images

Add custom page
curl effects to your images. There is also an effect for creating a turnpage
animation.

The Artist Texture
Effect allows you experiment to create wild, psychedelic patterns based on color
palettes and pattern templates.

The Creative Warp
Effect creates patterns from existing images based on a pattern template.

The Particle effect
allows you to add bubbles, rain, sparkles, snow, clouds, and more to your images.
Each effect has its own set of options for controlling the results. You can
even modify the properties and placement of each individual particle by selecting
them in the preview and using the Wireframe option.

The Kaleidoscope
is another way to create interesting seamless patterns and textures based on
another image. The sample area in the left preview can be moved, rotated and
resized, and the thumbnails below control the way the pattern is created. The
preview on the right shows how your image will look after applying the effect.

The Background Designer
is still another way to create custom background patterns. When applied to an
image, the background will automatically fill the image and becomes the background
image when exporting a Web page.
Frame
Gallery
The
Frame Gallery is a quick and easy way to add frames to your images. There are
5 galleries including 2D, 3D, Edge, Magic, and Classic Frames. Click
here to see an animated screen shot of the Frame Gallery (106KB).
A few of the classic
frame presets are shown here.
With
the exception of the Classic Frames, each of the galleries allows you to customize
the frames before applying them and there is a large preview window to see the
results of your changes. The Classic frames cannot be customized in the preview
window, but once applied to an image, the object can be ungrouped, and the individual
frame components can be customized. The frame to the right was customized in
this way. The top half was applied using one of the presets, and the bottom
half was customized after ungrouping the frame objects.
