This first one called "Creative Genius" was originally put together as a comparison of differing types of creative genius, contrasting scientific and artistic genius. It was put together in Photoshop (started in 3.x and finished in 4.0). It is composed of some 25 layers, about 10 different images, many masks and numerous tweaks, filters and corrections.

See the full size image in the forum"The second one, entitled "She was..." is a surrealistic look at a woman pining for her lost youth. Like "Creative Genius", it is made up of many, many layers and tweaks. Possibly the most difficult portion of this was the intensity of the masks used to blend the items together. It is about 7 different images and represents probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 hours of work." -KineticMan

See the full size image in the forum"The picture I'm posting was done in Bryce 2.0 and Corel Photopaint 7.0. The toughest thing about the various techniques was masking the foreground car. I finally used a vector path and that worked spiffy. The car and lion are from the free photo libraries on Image Catcher. The background was done in Bryce 2.0 and the whole thing composited on multiple layers in Photopaint." -Plexxy

See the full size image in the forum"I started with a "Bryce" background and added the car and the sphere behind the rocks. The car was easy to cut out from a photo using Photoshop 5.5 with the pen tool and the feather set to 1. Then I rotated and scaled it to "fit" realistically into the scene. I also added the proper shadows and reflections under and in front of the car for added realism. I made the sphere with the circular selection tool adding color bands and then used the "sphere" filter with a lens flare. I also used the "plastic wrap" filter. I painted the sphere reflections on the water and the car. Lastly, I added the "Eye's" in the sky by cutting & pasting them from a photo into a new layer mask. I scaled them and trimmed the unwanted part of the eyes then I changed the layer transparency to 40%. I saved the doc "for the web" in Photoshop using the Maximum setting, then I scaled it in "image size" to about 50% and ended up with a Slim & Trim 29K. Oh yea, I also used the "Hue & Saturation" adjustment to adjust the color on the car to match the sky." -Ziner

This was a small motorcycle toy that I scanned and experimented with in different modes. I believe this ended up being saturation at a lowered opacity. Found a stock photo in the Paint Shop Pro 6 Power ebook that was the perfect angle for the mysterious motorcycle dream image. It's a bit melodramatic but does represent that off road feeling." -Horsebreath

See the full size image in the forum"This was done about 3 years ago in a "Digital Imaging" class where I also learned Photoshop 3.0, as my project for our "Seamless Fantasy" portion. It's comprised of a photo of my son reading "Dinotopia" along with a scan of a dinosaur appearing to walk into the room. The background of the dinosaur is masked out, and appropriate shadows added to match existing shadows in the photograph. This composite took me 9 hours of class work." -Walt
