Deep Paint's Command Panels
The
next panel is the brushes and paints settings. From here you
control the size and shape of the brush and adjust how the paint
reacts with the canvas and other materials.
The three brush types available are:
- Simple Brush
- Artist Brush
- Airbrush
The paint types available are:
- Standard Paint
- Oil Paint
- Chalk and Charcoal
- Pen and Pencil
- Marble Paint
- Image Processing Paint
Each brush and paint type has its own settings so this palette will display a different set of options depending on the brush and paint type that is currently selected; some brush and paint settings offer many more options that those shown here. Each of the settings are described in detail in the online help.
Next
is the layer panel. From here you can add and delete layers,
control a layer's opacity setting, hide and unhide layers, lock
and unlock layers, and define layers as a clone source for use
with the clone tool. Using layers along with the clone tool
allows you apply painterly effects and artistic styles to photos
that can be very realistic looking. If you're not an artist,
this is where you can really have a lot of fun working with
Deep Paint.
The
fourth tab is the lighting controls. Here you control the lighting
direction and the intensity of ambient and spot lights. Any
changes you make in the lighting panel are automatically reflected
in your image. The three variations of sample text below are
a result of simply changing the lighting angle and intensity.

Experimenting
with the lighting controls as you work can result in some very
dramatic effects.
