Member Name: James

Interest/Experience with graphics software: Student

Operating System: Windows 9x

In this picture as in all the others, I used Photoshop 6. It was simply a blending of clouds and the blur tool, but it made some pretty interesting results. Also added was the lens flare effect for the sun, little Photoshop trick I use, I call it instant sun, lol.

What graphics software do you use on a regular basis?
Photoshop 6, Adobe Illustrator, Jasc Animation Shop, Ulead Cool 3D

What was the first graphics program you learned?
Microsoft Windows Paint

What is your all-time favorite graphics program and why?
My all time favorite and always will be is Adobe Photoshop and here is why. Because there is so much to it that people, including myself do not yet understand its full power. Not only are there over 10 ways to make the same thing, you vary the same thing 100x's over or more! Endless capabilities.

How long have you been working with graphics software?
2 yrs

How do you use graphics software in your day-to-day activities?
Only in personal projects, portfolio pieces. or freelance/student work.

What is your best graphics tip or piece of advice?
Practice and learn what software you are using right now. Sure there are a lot of programs out there, but that "old dog" you're using right now, I bet, still has an old trick or two that you just haven't found yet. Also make sure if you're looking for a graphics job, call around and find out what software they use, and if you can get your hands on it and learn it, learn it.

Where do you get your inspiration?
From what I see. Mostly nature scenes, imagination.

One of my most recent. Made also in Photoshop. Just kinda got the wierd inspiration to draw a wall. The vines were actully an after-thought, but they turned out to be great. It was actully pretty easy too.

This is a little cartoonish number I did, using a great filter called Primus. Its free and recommmend it to any Photoshop user. I made the tree using the hardest tool in Phtoshop I feel but also the best, the P.Lasso.

This is also another ocean like picture, kinda my favortie kind to make really. Also again here is the P.Lasso tool, very time consuming, but good results.

This is a late night Photoshop idea that was first a flop and turned out to be pretty interesting. Not really the most active though.
