Interest/Experience with graphics software: Hobbyist
Operating System: Windows 9x

I used my digital camera to take a picture of a sketch I drew
in the mid 80's that was only black and white. I used Paint
Shop Pro to add a background design and color to the image.
I also was able to redraw portions of the sketch and improve
on the original design.
What
graphics software do you use on a regular basis?
Paint Shop Pro version 7.2
What
was the first graphics program you learned?
Microsoft Paint
What
is your all-time favorite graphics program and why?
I do not have experience with other graphics programs but have
learned the functions of the various tools in Paint Shop Pro
and find it relatively easy to create a wide variety of art.
I especially enjoy the use of layers and the lighting effects
in Paint Shop Pro. This is a good program because of the great
number of online tutorials that help master this software.
How
long have you been working with graphics software?
2 years
How
do you use graphics software in your day-to-day activities?
I design original cards for my friends and also have a web page
that features the sculpture of my 88 year old father and my
poetry and art along with my younger sister's art and poetry.
PSP also provides professional ways to frame graphics. I enjoy
the ease of creating original designs and particularly like
abstract drawings. I have several pages of graphics that I have
drawn strictly by using PSP.
What
is your best graphics tip or piece of advice?
Try to loosen up and have a few "artistic accidents". Often
tutorials are too structured and not enough personal experimentation
takes place. These art programs are full of wonderful surprises!
Where
do you get your inspiration?
My whole family has an art background and my Mother and Father
met at the Chicago Art Instute in 1939. I am also a silver smith
and design and make jewelry.
