I use layers, lots of layers, in Paint Shop Pro. The best advice that I can give is to practice diligently and observe the techniques of your favorite artists. Study your artwork and that of others carefully to find what works best for you. And above all, learn your paint program!

What graphics software do you use on a regular basis?
Paint Shop Pro is my favorite painting software.

What was the first graphics program you learned?
Paint Shop Pro was the my first experience with graphics software and to this day, I still love it!

What is your all-time favorite graphics program and why?
Let's see, besides the multiple times that you can undo your errors, the command history allows multiples all at once. When I first began painting, I used it religiously. Actually, I can't think of a thing I don't like about it, but my first love is the tubes. I often draw part of my images separately and tube them for later use.

How long have you been working with graphics software?
About a year and a half.

How do you use graphics software in your day-to-day activities?
I paint daily without fail.

What is your best graphics tip or piece of advice?
Practice!! And take all the tutorials, like the ones here at About.com

Where do you get your inspiration?
From life.

Ballerina, like all my work, was done totally in Paint Shop Pro.

Ecstasy is part of my Floral Collection.

Spanish Dancer is my all time favorite, I think.

Waterfall was pure whimsey.
