Picture taken on Kodak Gold 200 with Bronica ETRS 6X4.5 camera.
The image was scanned into Photoshop 5 where some cropping and
other minor adjustments were made and finally filter/dry brush
applied. I use the Epson 750 Photo to print out and this image
warrants a heavy hand made fine art paper. The white sky is
intentional to give it a "Lowry" feel. I did try introducing
various skies, but most detracted from the general hue of the
scene.
What
graphics software do you use on a regular basis?
Photoshop 5, Photosuite III (rarely)
What
was the first graphics program you learned?
Photoshop 4
What
is your all-time favorite graphics program and why?
This may sound boring, but Photoshop 5. I have worked with Photoshop
now for about 4 years and every day I learn something new. It
is a good, sound and stable piece of software and I wouldn't
be without it. Beats a wet darkroom anyday!
How
long have you been working with graphics software?
Four years
How
do you use graphics software in your day-to-day activities?
All my work has been archived onto CD after being scanned into
the system. I'm talking about 45 years of work. Precious family
photos have been rescued from further deterioration, retouched
in some cases. And the pleasure of reliving all those memories
is just great.
What
is your best graphics tip or piece of advice?
Start with the best - Photoshop! Even if it is LE, you can upgrade.
Get useful reference books and use them. Use a second monitor
if possible so that you can make use of the somewhat heavygoing
Adobe manual. Why they stop you printing this out beats me!!
Where
do you get your inspiration?
I always carry my Sony Cybershot in my breast pocket. I can
take anything I see, get instant results and return to the scene
with my heavy gear when light and other things are just right.
Hooray for digital!

This picture was taken on Ilford HP3 processed in ID11 with
the Bronica ETRSI with a standard 75mm lens. It is a straight
scan into Photoshop 5 with just minor adjustments to contrast
and some cropping. Printed out with a Brother 1250 Laser printer,
the tones are great.

This picture of a Franciscan Brother was taken on Ilford FP3
and processed in Ilford ID11. It was taken with a Rollieflex
TLR 6X6 cm using a F3.5 Tessar lens. Wow, what a lens that is!
I converted to RGB in Photoshop 5 and applied Image/Adjust to
give me a pale sepia tone which I feel looks nice with this
image.

This shot was taken with the Rollieflex TLR on Ilford HP3 and
processed in Ilford ID11. Scanned into Photoshop, I was able
to adjust the contrast and do some cropping to give me the desired
effect. You see the scene as it was.
